July 2008 Newsletter

Dear Friend & Hornist, Well its been a busy summer of repairs and Horn building. We continue to make acoustical advancements on our line of Horns. Mechanical action with string on our Erfurt and Geyer horns is now an option to traditional string action. More molds and bell mandrel tooling have been added to help with increased Horn demand.

One picture is Alex Camphouse (S. F. Bay area freelancer) with his new Atkinson Geyer 2000 model and Bruce Roberts of the S. F. Symphony a soon to be AG2000 owner. Also Len Kawamoto who had his 8-D customized from us. The second picture is of Jonathan Ring also S.F. Symphony with Mark Atkinson. Jonathan flew down from San Francisco to pick up his new AG2000. He choose our new Geyer-Knopf pipe (double drawn) for its clarity and response.

On July 22nd thru 26th Atkinson Horns will be displaying at the 40th annual IHS Horn workshop at University of Denver, Lamont School of Music Room 214. Looking forward to seeing all of our old & new friends to test The Atkinson.
